GATES MILLS, Ohio — Nate Trefzger was not ready to relinquish the Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division title.

The junior quarterback had four touchdowns — throwing for two and running for two— to lead the Perry to a 55-10 victory over Hawken on Friday and capture its third straight title.

The Pirates, who went undefeated in five division games, have to wait an extra week to see who they will host in the OHSAA Division IV, Region 13 playoffs. Under the new playoff format, the top four teams will have a bye until the following week. Perry (8-2) finished first in the region.

The Hawks (4-1 CVC, 8-2), who had their four-game winning streak snapped, clinched a top four playoff spot in Division III, Region 9 and will also have a first-round bye next week.
