MORGANTOWN -- College sports programs often recognize the history and culture of their area with commemorative jerseys and gear.
West Virginia has done so with its "Coal Rush"-themed football jerseys, followed by the same gesture in basketball.
The popular theme that recognizes West Virginia's coal-mining history was introduced last season when the football Mountaineers played Iowa State.
The Coal Rush theme returns this weekend when West Virginia welcomes TCU to Morgantown for a 6 p.m. Saturday kickoff.
