A downtown Hamilton spot for Italian eats and late-night drinks has quietly closed after more than five years in business.
Caro owner Cory Tower told The Spectator that the James Street North restaurant, along with its basement speakeasy, My Father Was Famous, which opened in 2023, held its final service earlier this month.
Roughly 10 employees — both full- and part-time — were impacted by the closure, said Tower.
Caro once had two locations in the city — one on Ottawa Street North and the other on James. The Ottawa location had been open since at least 2018, but closed earlier this year, while the James location opened in 2020.
