New twists have emerged in the mysterious death of former Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa’s son, Akeel Akhtar, with police now examining entries from his personal diary and possible links to drugs.
Head of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), ACP Vikram Nehra, on Friday said the diary was recently handed over by Akeel’s family.
“We took it into possession. Some things are written in the diary, and we are investigating them... What is written in the diary is almost the same as what he said in the viral video,” Nehra was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The officer added that “many notes are written on different dates” and that certain items found at the scene “prima facie seem to be related to drugs.” These items have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination.
