A one-day free shooting camp was organised by the Shooting Association of West Garo Hills on Saturday to familiarise school children with the basics of shooting sports and the equipment used by professional athletes.

The event, held at the Don Bosco School Indoor Shooting Range in Tura, aimed to promote shooting as a sport and create awareness about the upcoming National Games 2027, which will be hosted by Meghalaya.

More than 30 students from various schools in and around Tura participated in the camp, which served not only as an introductory session but also as a talent hunt for young aspiring shooters.

The organisers plan to identify promising talents and provide them with further training and exposure in the sport.
