88 high street stores are shutting for good as a major retailer confirms closures . Cancer Research has confirmed that towns and cities including Birmingham, Derby and Glasgow will all affected by the changes.

A further 100 stores will shut by April 2027. The charity shop estimates it will have around 320 shops left over the next two years. However, the charity says it will expand its network of out-of-town superstores, with 12 new stores set to open.

Cancer Research says the closures are down to reduced footfall, higher National Insurance contributions, and growing competition from online resale platforms.
