With the World Series returning to Toronto on Friday night, the Blue Jays delivered a performance that just might have been 32 years in the making.
Backed by a nine-run sixth inning, the Blue Jays dominated the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the Fall Classic, running up Blake Snell’s pitch count and outhomering the reigning champs, 3-1.
The 11-4 final was a far cry from pre-series expectations, which had Los Angeles as heavy favourites to bring home the Commissioner’s Trophy for a second straight fall.
