Cambridge Police Department detectives have released pictures of a “person of interest” regarding a shooting that happened in Cambridge near Harvard University on Friday.

The person being sought after was caught on camera wearing a red top and black pants. They are not currently wanted but detectives are looking to speak with them, the department said on Facebook .

The shooting was reported at around 10:58 a.m. by several 911 calls who said “multiple gunshots” were heard on Sherman Street in the vicinity of Stearns Street in Cambridge.

Ballistic evidence and witness statements confirmed the shooting. Information suggests that two to three people had an altercation in the roadway, including someone on a bike, when at least one person fired “multiple gunshots” at another.
