BENTON, Ark.- Two years ago, 12-year-old Samantha Andrews went into her second fight with leukemia, and as she struggled with her health, her parents were on the hunt for a bone marrow donor that would cure her sickness.
Her mother, Serena Andrews, says it wasn't easy to overcome, but they were blessed after finding a bone marrow donor.
"Our donor was a 19-year-old girl from Germany, and that was on December 15th of 2023," Serena said.
Samantha is now two years into her recovery journey and is back in school. There's one man who's honoring her resilience, Mike Glisson, who awards children overcoming disparities with the "Adam Brown" award.
"I discreetly talked to Serena, and I said, 'Hey, let me show you something special for kids. ' I gave her my number. I said, 'Check this out,'" Gli
