CHICO, Calif. - Chico city leaders are taking steps to improve conditions at the alternative homeless camp located at Eaton Road and Cohasset Road. This move comes in response to growing safety concerns from local residents.

This week, the Chico City Council approved several new measures. These include adding security, banning generators, gas cans, and propane tanks, and creating stricter rules for enforcing the code of conduct for those staying at the camp.

Most neighbors expressed satisfaction with the new safety measures, although some remain concerned about illegal camps near the site.
