Manchester Airport has announced new rules for Ryanair passengers which came into effect this week. It comes as the airport undergoes major changes as part of its £1.3billion transformation programme.

It’s not long until the airport’s new-look Terminal 2 opens to the public, eventually serving 70 per cent of the airport’s passengers. As part of the plans, Terminal 1 will close.

Some of the space freed up by the closure of Termainal 1 will go towards a multi-million pound project to revamp and expand Manchester Airport's Terminal 3, which is already underway.

There will be 40 per cent more seating, more space and facilities, brand new security equipment, and new shops and places to eat and drink.
