Following the shocking incidents of violence against women inside West Bengal hospitals, the state government convened a high-level review meeting at the state secretariat on Thursday to assess security arrangements and discuss preventive measures, NDTV reported.

The meeting, chaired by the Chief Secretary, was attended by the Director General of Police (DGP), Home Secretary, Health Secretary, Kolkata Police Commissioner and the principals of all state-run medical colleges. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee joined the deliberations via telephone, the report said.
