EVERETT, Mass. —

Authorities are investigating a deadly crane collapse in Everett, Massachusetts, on Friday afternoon that killed two subcontractors.

The collapse occurred at a job site on the Mystic River around 3 p.m.

Everett Fire Chief John Hickey said in a press conference one person is deceased and a second person was transported to the hospital.

WMUR's sister station WCVB learned the person in the hospital has since died.

The identity of the deceased individuals are not being released at this time, only that the victims were two young men and were subcontractors on the project.

They were performing demolition on obsolete equipment at the marine dock terminal when the collapse occurred.
