Quarterback Alex Sutherland passed for 101 yards, including touchdown passes to Jacob Schuff (44 yards) and Joel Gomez (28 yards), to lead host Manchester Memorial past Pinkerton Academy 28-25 on Friday night in a battle of ranked football teams.
The Astros (6-2 overall, 6-1 in NHIAA Division I) entered the game ranked No. 2 in the statewide Union Leader Power Poll. The Crusaders (8-1 overall, 7-1 in Division I) entered the contest ranked No. 4.
The victory was Memorial's second in 28 all-time meetings between the programs.
Schuff finished the night with three TDs, including runs covering 21 and 8 yards. The 21-yarder gave the hosts a 28-17 lead with 6:33 left in the game.
