Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Saturday claimed that the BJP received electoral bonds worth Rs 945 crore from pharmaceutical companies. Singh made the remarks while attacking the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh over the deaths of 26 children linked to the contaminated Coldrif cough syrup.
Speaking at a press conference in Bhopal, the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister alleged that the state government did not take strict action against pharma companies as they give election donations to the BJP.
"Companies that sell toxic drugs are receiving protection because they have provided election funds to the BJP, which is in power at the Centre," he said.
