NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Shubert Theatre in downtown New Haven says they are haunted with ghosts; not typical ghosts, but theatre ghosts, who keep coming back for more and more encores.
The theatre, built in 1914, has featured a wide span of famous stars and performances . Theatre Director of Advertising and Community Relations Anthony Lupinacci joked he knows that history well because he was around for all of it.
Though he's not as old as the history on the walls, he understands it thoroughly.
"So every time we have a show here, the shows actually sign in with their logos and the cast will put their autographs on these logos," Lupinacci said.
The theatre's reputation is steeped in tradition, including the practice of leaving a "ghost light" on at 3 a.m. for ghosts to tour the stage.
