DANE COUNTY, Wis — The Capital Area Regional Planning Commission (CARPC) is leading an initiative to evaluate and protect road infrastructure in rural Dane County.

CARPC is a regional government agency serving Dane County that focuses on land use planning and water quality management.

“We've been experiencing, over the past few decades, a change in the weather. Storm events have become more frequent and more extreme,” said Jason Valerius, CARPC’s executive director. “The impact of that is that some of this infrastructure, which has been around for decades, is no longer up to the task of being able to pass that stormwater safely.”
