We’re a little over a week away from the November elections, and Berrien County voters will have a few big questions to decide.
First up is the Lake Michigan College millage renewal. LMC is asking voters to reauthorize its operating millage of 0.6655 mills for 20 years. That pays for the college’s day to day expenses, expected to raise about $8.9 million in 2027. The college is also asking for a 10-year renewal of its capital millage, which pays for building improvements and security. LMC is seeking a reduced capital millage, cutting it in half from its current rate to 0.24 mills. That would raise an estimated $3.2 million in 2027.
