Dairy brand Amul has shared a special topical tribute for advertising legend Piyush Pandey, who died on October 24, at the age of 70. Amul's homage perfectly encapsulated Pandey's impact on Indian popular culture and advertising.

The tribute piece — a black and white sketch of Pandey — carries the line “Inka sur sabse mila,” meaning “his tune matched with everyone”. The caption by Amul read: “Amul Topical: Tribute to one of India’s advertising legends!”

In keeping with Amul's flair for humour, the artwork was shared on the firm's Instagram account and swiftly went viral on social media, receiving praise from both fans and peers in the field.

The topical is also a hat tip to the well-known national integration song "Mile Sur Mera Tumhara," turning it into "Inka sur sabse mila".
