SCOTTVILLE — Injuries have plagued the Mason County Central varsity volleyball team for much of the season, but on Thursday, you couldn’t tell as it welcomed Oakridge to town.
“We had Lucy (O’Harra), she was out, she was in practice and hurt her shoulder (Wednesday),” Spartans head coach Erin O’Harra said. “Besides that, I’m hoping that we’re coming back. Madison (Norton) was hitting normal tonight. She wasn’t hesitating and she was fighting.”
Despite a slow start, the Spartans rallied and forced a fifth set. However, it was the Eagles’ night as they secured a 3-2 non-conference win (17-25, 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 11-15).
Mason County Central is now 8-14-2 overall and 2-4 in West Michigan Conference-Rivers action.
