ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. ( WMBF /Gray News) - Authorities in North Carolina are investigating a deadly shooting outside of Maxton.

According to Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins, the shooting happened during a large party on Dixon Drive near McGirt Gin Road.

Sheriff Wilkins said 13 people were shot, with two dead.

About 150 people reportedly ran away from the scene before officers arrived.

Wilkins said there is no danger to the community as the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.

Authorities did not release any further immediate information.
