Auburn coach Hugh Freeze pulled the plug on starting quarterback Jackson Arnold after benching him late in the second quarter against Arkansas.
Arnold threw his second interception of the season that went for an 89-yard touchdown, putting Auburn in a 21-10 hole going into the halftime break.
Backup Ashton Daniels got the nod at quarterback and finished the game completing all but one of his passes and throwing for 77 yards through the air.
Daniels also rushed seven times for 35 yards and converted on a fourth quarter two-point conversion to extend Auburn’s lead.
The Tigers went on to defeat Arkansas 33-24 and Freeze spoke on the ensuing quarterback battle he’ll monitor throughout the remainder of the season.
