FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — After multiple weeks of chatter, Hugh Freeze finally turned his words into action.
Since Auburn football was readying for its Week 8 matchup with Missouri, Freeze said wouldn't hesitate to switch quarterbacks, going to Ashton Daniels over starter Jackson Arnold in-game. He said the same as the Tigers prepared for Arkansas . He even said pregame it would happen against the Razorbacks.
Just before halftime, it actually happened.
Arnold threw a pick-six on the Tigers' second-to-last drive of the first half, and Arkansas went up double digits. That was it. With 40 seconds remaining, Daniels came in. Then Daniels never left. The Stanford transfer quarterbacked Auburn 's offense the rest of the way, helping Auburn to a 33-24 comeback win Saturday, Oct. 25.
