IOWA CITY — Iowa football and Minnesota entered the Oct. 25 meeting with identical records overall and in the Big Ten.

Both teams came into the contest 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

But that was not reflected in how the game unfolded.

The Hawkeyes looked worlds better than the Golden Gophers .

Iowa flat-out obliterated Minnesota. With 11:23 remaining in the second quarter, Iowa already led 31-0. The Hawkeyes put those points on the board in a variety of ways, scoring two offensive touchdowns, one field goal, one defensive touchdown and one special teams touchdown.

Iowa cruised the rest of the way.

The Hawkeyes did not trail for a single second in a 41-3 win over the Golden Gophers.
