HOUSTON — The UConn football team saw its four-game winning streak disappear Saturday in Texas with another overtime loss.
The Huskies fell to Rice 37-34 on the road in double overtime. UConn drops to 5-3, and all three of the team’s losses in 2025 have come in overtime on the road.
Rice erased a seven-point fourth-quarter deficit and rose to 4-4. The Owls snapped a three-game losing streak and avenged their 2023 and 2024 losses to UConn.
While the Huskies’ defense showed flashes of effectiveness on Saturday, it could not keep up with Rice’s rushing attack down the stretch.
Junior Rice running back Quinton Jackson stole the show. He rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, while adding another 80 receiving yards and a touchdown reception.
