Ranked second in the country for attracting new residents, which could help with workforce shortages, Bunbury will continue to face empty shopfronts and quiet streets unless more is done to activate the CBD, experts have warned.

Relocation company Muval has released its latest data on where people choose to move internally in Australia with the Bunbury region ranking second in the country.

The inbound to outbound ratio of Bunbury is 1.55, meaning for every two people moving out of Bunbury, roughly three are moving in. The south-east region of South Australia ratio is 1.59.

The report said “with the perfect blend of city convenience and stunning beaches, Bunbury continues to attract movers seeking lifestyle upgrade without sacrificing connection”.
