A section of Mt. Rose Highway will be temporarily closed on Sunday as an oversized vehicle travels along the route.

The closure will affect the roadway near Galena Creek Regional Park from above Mt. Rose Ski Resort at Slide Mountain Road to Timberline and Bordeaux drives between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Drivers will still be able to use the lower and upper sections of the highway, but travel between the ski resort and Timberline/Bordeaux drives will not be permitted during this time.

Side street access along the affected section of Mt. Rose Highway will also be briefly restricted while the vehicle moves.

Officials say the road closure schedule is subject to change.

Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during the closure.
