In preparation for Bihar’s vibrant Chhath festival, the Indian Railways launched a special initiative to celebrate the occasion by playing popular folk songs dedicated to Chhath at more than 100 major stations across India.
According to TOI, this arrangement has been rolled out at 30 stations, where the regular train announcements briefly pause to allow the tunes of Chhath folk music. During intervals when no train information is being broadcast through the automated system, songs by celebrated artists such as Sharda Sinha, Nitu Kumari Navgeet, Vindyavasni Devi, and others are played for passengers.
