The Carolina Panthers’ winning streak came to a crushing end Sunday as the Buffalo Bills delivered a historic 40-9 blowout.
Buffalo’s rushing attack overwhelmed Carolina, with Josh Allen and James Cook combining for four touchdowns and 245 rushing yards — more than the Panthers’ entire offensive output. Cook’s 216-yard performance set a new record for the most rushing yards ever allowed by Carolina, breaking a mark that had stood since 2008.
Andy Dalton, starting for the injured Bryce Young, struggled throughout the game, completing 16 of 24 passes for 175 yards while committing three turnovers. Buffalo capitalized on every mistake, scoring 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to seal the rout.
The Panthers, now 4-4, also lost starting guard Brady Christensen to a likely season-end
