The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Rathod Bhikku, District Co-operative Officer of Mancherial and Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, for allegedly demanding a Rs 7 lakh bribe, media reports say.
According to ACB officials, Bhikku sought the amount from a complainant in exchange for reinstatement from suspension, restoration of salary and benefits, and avoiding action on an enquiry report. After negotiation, the demand was reduced to Rs 5 lakh. He was caught accepting Rs 2 lakh as the first installment.
The ACB urged citizens to report bribery attempts on social media.
