WYANDOTTE – It was a huge day for the Maples.

On Saturday, the Adrian Maples cross country teams punched their respective tickets to the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Cross Country State Finals at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) on Nov. 1.

The Adrian boys team finished with a second-place finish at the Division 2 Regional held at Lake Erie Metro Park in Wyandotte, while the girls team finished in a close third place.

Adrian finished with runner-up honors at the event, finishing with 66 points, only six points behind the regional champions from Chelsea who won the crown with 60 points.
