When Jeffrey Salisbury makes his monthly trip to the London Food Bank, he brings home essentials that will last for at least 30 days.

But the Londoner, who has several disabilities, has been told he can't bring home his haul on the paratransit bus he takes to get around because of safety concerns.

"They're telling us now that you can't put the boxes on the floor and you can't put them on the seat next to you. You have to hold all of the boxes, but with three or four boxes, it's not really possible to hold them all," Salisbury told CBC News.

Now, Ward. 11 Coun. Skyler Franke is taking on the fight, asking London Transit to review its policy on bringing items on board and to consider how it can better support riders who use the food bank.
