A teacher who had sex "on a number of occasions" with one of his former pupils has been banned from the profession for life . ‌

Benjamin Steven Hiscox, 34, had been a maths teacher at South Nottinghamshire Academy when allegations were first made that he had a sexual relationship with a girl he taught during his training in Scotland. ‌

The training year took place at Madras College in St Andrews, where the girl - referred to as Pupil A - was a student at the time. The relationship was initially investigated by Police Scotland after the girl's parents became aware of it, followed by a referral to the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA). ‌
