CANFIELD Investigators are looking for the cause of the fire that broke out under the metal roof of the Summit Car Wash along Route 224 in Canfield early Monday.
Firefighters from multiple departments were called out to a blaze reported just after 7 a.m. at the car wash and beverage drive-through at the corner of Summit Drive.
Flames were reportedly shooting through the roof of the building.
A picture sent by a viewer shows black smoke streaking across the morning sky.
The fire was just west of the construction zone along the south side of Route 224.
Investigators tell 21 News that the flames broke through the building's metal roof. Because the supporting trusses were damaged, firefighters poured water onto the flames from an aerial ladder.
The fire was under control by 8:30 a.m.
