Michigan gasoline prices, after dropping to a new low last week and settling on average below $3 a gallon statewide for regular unleaded, surged 29 cents a gallon since, hitting a new average of $3.08 a gallon.

"Motorists across Michigan are seeing much higher prices at the pump," the auto club’s spokeswoman Adrienne Woodland said Monday, Oct. 27, adding that the state’s average gasoline price was "going back above $3 a gallon."
