Left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed delivered remarkable figures of 6 for 34, aiding Bengal in dismissing Gujarat for 167 and subsequently achieving 170 for 6 in their second innings on the third and penultimate day of their Ranji Trophy Group C match on Monday.

Resuming at 107 for 7 in response to Bengal’s 279 all out, Gujarat were bowled out in 76.3 overs with Ahmed dominating the bowling attack, while Mohammed Shami (3/44) claimed three wickets.

Gujarat’s skipper Manan Hingrajia top-scored with a patient 80 off 252 balls but found no support from the other end.
