Donald Trump claimed he has already been elected President of the United States three times in a post on Truth Social early Monday morning.

"After winning THREE Elections, BY A LOT, I am now getting the best Polling Numbers that I have ever received," Trump posted.

Trump's use of the phrase "winning three elections" destroys the suggested loophole presented by Steve Bannon and others to the 22nd Amendment barring a 3rd term, which states that no one can be "elected" to the office of President more than twice.

Constitutional scholars have raised alarms about the idea that Trump could exploit the word "elected" by running as Vice President to J.D. Vance or someone else and have Vance step down, handing Trump another term, since the Amendment doesn't explicitly forbid serving more than two
