AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - A second suspect has now been charged in connection with the deadly shooting at Highland Square earlier this month.
Emahni Thomas, 23, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, having weapons while under disability, and tampering with evidence.
On Oct. 5, Timothy Hutchinson died after being caught in the cross fire between Thomas and Deshawn Stafford.
Akron police said Stafford shot at Thomas and then Thomas returned fire and struck Hutchinson.
Thomas allegedly told police he got rid of the gunman used in the shooting.
“It didn’t seem real at first, you never think that something like this can happen,” said Zach Raymond, one of Hutchinson’s friends from college.
