CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The trial for two suspects accused of killing the owner of a popular Noda restaurant is now underway.
Steve Staples and Terry Connor allegedly shot and killed Scott Brooks during a robbery December 2019.
He owned Brooks Sandwich House on North Brevard Street.
Court documents show both suspects have a lengthy history of violent crime prior to the shooting that killed Brooks.
The restaurant will be closed Monday because of the trial, but will resume hours on Tuesday.
