A free tour of a legendary ship with Hollywood links in Plymouth has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
Historic vessel Eye of the Wind was set to visit the city tomorrow - October 28 - but organisers have pulled the plug due to problems associated with Storm 'Joshua' on the North Sea coast of mainland Europe.
Officials say it was too risky for the Eye of the Wind and people on board to leave Amsterdam safely before heading to Plymouth.
The open ship event promised to give maritime enthusiasts and sightseers the chance to visit the tall ship free of charge and get to know the square-rigger.
Schoolkids would have also had the opportunity to talk to the regular crew about careers in shipping, particularly on traditional ships.
Eye of the Wind is now bound for Plymouth
