Chicago’s cherished outdoor holiday light show, Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum , returns for its 13th year starting Saturday, Nov. 15, running through Jan. 3, 2026, according to a press release . This interactive event attracts visitors of all ages to stroll a one-mile, ADA-accessible trail where dazzling lights highlight the Arboretum’s winter landscapes.

Last year, Illumination was nationally recognized by USA TODAY as one of the top 10 “Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights.”

This season introduces four larger-than-life, colorful Vivid Creatures sculptures created by artists Heather BeGaetz and Fez BeGaetz, integrated into 20 immersive light displays.
