Community members gathered at Lincoln University on Monday, Oct. 27, in the wake of a shooting that left a Wilmington dead and six others injured during late-night homecoming festivities on the evening on Oct. 25.

The gathering, described as a "moment of reflection, connection, and collective healing" by the university, was slated for noon and open to the "campus community," not a public event or one where media were allowed to attend. Classes were canceled for the day, as well, though the university remained open and counseling services are available there for students in need.
