POLAND Pioneer Trails Tree Farm in Poland will be cutting down Christmas trees for U.S. Military members serving overseas this holiday season.
Veterans, Girl Scouts and volunteers will gather at the farm Sunday, November 9 at 9 a.m. to cut eight trees to send a little bit of Christmas cheer to active duty military personnel serving overseas.
The trees will be decorated with ornaments and written letters from students at Boardman Center Intermediate School, Girl Scout Troops - Service Unit 821 and residents at the Blackburn Home in Poland.
This is part of Operation Evergreen, an initiative that sees tree farms across Ohio donate to the cause and pay for the cost of the tree and shipping.
It costs about $200 to ship one tree, which totals about $20,000 to ship all 100 trees collecte
