The Baltimore Orioles announced that former associate manager and bench coach Craig Albernaz was hired as the team’s next manager.

Albernaz, 42, was last with the Cleveland Guardians as an associate manager in 2025. He also served as the team’s bench coach in 2024.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to join the storied Baltimore Orioles organization,” Albernaz said. “This is a tremendous honor, and I’m grateful to Mike Elias and the entire Orioles team for entrusting me with the responsibility of leading this talented club.”

Prior to his time with the Guardians, Albernaz served as the bullpen and catching coach for the San Francisco Giants from 2020 to 2023.
