ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Roanoke Police Department is investigating a fatal seven-vehicle crash that occurred in northeast Roanoke on Friday, October 24, 2025.

At 4:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Orange Ave. and Plantation Rd. NE. Police located and identified 26-year-old Andrew Marciniec of Raphine; he was taken to a hospital and died from his injuries, according to RPD.

An initial investigation revealed the driver of the first vehicle was going over the speed limit when it hit another vehicle from behind as it was slowing for traffic, according to police.
