Swiss triathlete Imogen Simmonds has been cleared of doping after a ruling found her positive test to be due to ‘sexual contamination’ . ‌

The 32-year-old tested positive for a banned substance and was initially suspended by the International Testing Agency (ITA) earlier this year after returning a positive test for ligandrol. ‌

As described by the ITA, ligandrol is “a selective androgen receptor modulator which promotes muscle growth and enhances physical performance” and is banned in and out of competition. ‌
