Kolkata: The announcement of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls for 12 Indian states by the Election Commission of India (ECI), including West Bengal, has evoked a mixed response from leaders of different political parties in the state.

The Trinamool Congress has threatened to launch a massive protest demonstration in front of the ECI office if the name of even a single genuine voter in West Bengal is deleted from the rolls.
