MANOR, Texas — A homebuilding effort with global roots is underway in Manor this week, as Habitat for Humanity International and its Austin affiliate welcome thousands of volunteers for the 2025 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project.
The weeklong event marks the first Carter Work Project since the passing of former President Jimmy Carter, who died in late 2024.
Over its 40-year history, the project has brought together volunteers, celebrities elected officials and community leaders in 14 countries to highlight the global need for affordable housing.
