KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man has been charged after a deadly shooting at an apartment in downtown Kansas City.
Jeremiah L. Johnson was charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and first-degree robbery.
The charges are in connection with the shooting death of Vincent Taylor on Oct. 21 at an apartment near West Ninth and Jefferson streets. Taylor was 38-years-old.
According to court documents, surveillance footage showed Taylor entering the building shortly before three men followed. One of them pulled out a pistol and shot Taylor after he attempted to get his own weapon.
The next day, detectives received a tip from someone who claimed Johnson had confessed to the killing. According to the tipster, Johnson said he and a friend met Taylor to sell a firearm.
