One supermarket has taken the top spot as the 'UK's cheapest' for a Halloween-themed shop.

Asda was found to be the most affordable supermarket for Halloween party shopping, according to The Grocer magazine’s latest G33 price comparison .

Each week the magazine compares 33 items across supermarkets, including Asda, Morrisons , Tesco , Sainsbury's and Waitrose , and ranks each retailer on cost. Each weekly survey also takes into account information on promotions and inflation.

In the run up to the end of the month, the consumer watchdog assessed the cost of 33 items at major supermarkets with comparisons including classic Halloween items such as pumpkins and a Cadbury variety bag, as well as home staples such as own-label apples, eggs and soup.
